I, and my sister, LOVE Dress Barn. I never even thought that the name was an issue.

And yes it is, for us, a go to place for apparel for church , office , etc.

I have more clothing than I'll ever need. My sister also. But I'm sure she'll check out what's offered as the stores wind down toward closure.

I LOVE Chico's- and many of their things are made in the USA.

We have a Dress Barn in our small mall. I haven't seen any indication that it's going out of business, so this is a huge surprise to me. I don't shop there often, but I have found some stuff I've loved there. I have had the best luck with maxi skirts and some dresses. I haven't found other things that I find flattering there. And I usually go for the big sales since I find their prices a bit steep (yes, I'm a cheapskate-- being on the poor side isn't a blast).

I used to buy corduroy pants from them some years back. But lately they stopped selling them and therefore the closing of the Dress Barn chain is no great loss to my wardrobe.

According to one of their press releases the stores closings will take 6-12 mos. - I'm guessing that sales/clearances won't start until later this year.
