I have a son who is 33. He, his wife, and their friends don't talk that way.

My son is 38, I agree, and I was being sarcastic

If it doesn't look cheap, go ahead! Looking cheap or classy is not age related.

Seems like you have the body for it, so rock it!

LOL. Why are you asking? He likes it, you like it. We donít even know you. Why ask us?

Exactly. OP, how would anyone know you're 45, to be in a position to judge you as being "in the wrong"? Do you wear a t-shirt or badge that states your age? Or do you look your age--face showing lines or sun damage, crows' feet have appeared, so your face is your age-badge, and you're wondering if a mini skirt might look inappropriate?

A good rule of thumb may be, that if you have to ask, the answer probably is, that you shouldn't try to dress too youthfully. Only you can be the judge of that, since we don't know you. But if your bf is fine with it, you can always dress as you like for him privately.

It also depends on how anyone defines "miniskirt". I've seen fashion designers market as "minis" skirts/dresses that are just an inch or so above the knee. Nancy Pelosi has worn dresses that length. If they're good enough for Nancy Pelosi in her 70's (almost 80, now), then by gum, they should be good enough for you! OTOH, if you mean the black spandex tube skirts like Russian young women wear, that give everyone a show if they have to bend over (this happens a lot with waitresses in restaurants), then, um.....no.

Only you know the details of the situation, and are able to decide. At 45, you should have faith in your own judgment. You shouldn't have to ask strangers on the internet.

And if it suits the occasion. Miniskirts aren't always the most appropriate choice for every venue.

I'm a 50-year old woman in great shape, but I tend to gravitate to skirts that hit just below the knee because I think knee caps aren't an attractive part of a woman's body. (Of course I wear short stuff when playing tennis or wearing shorts. But that's not really for dressing to "rock" anyone.)

Wear what you want.

Good observation. Actually, I don't know any women who talk that way, at any age. Maybe the OP's a guy? Maybe that's why there's some doubt in the OP's mind?

Would I faze out the mini skirts by 50? Yes. Err on the side of caution.
My 62 year old girlfriend. Think she could rock a short skirt? Hint: she does.
