I just got a Dip Manicure. I've previously only done a gel polish, however the tech convinced me this was healthier and lasted longer than a gel polish Immediately I disliked how thick my nails are. I feel like I've got fake nails on. But that isn't my main concern. I had the manicure on Saturday and my finger nails hurt. They are sore and feel awkward. is this normal? Should I be concerned? why would they be sore?
Any sort of acrylic topping on fingernails damage your nail bed. I wore nails for years and it took months for my nailbeds to regrow and become healthy.
I do have an acrylic over, get ready...my toenails. Toenails are typically thicker than fingernails. I take a break every few months (winter) and just put them back on. Perfect toenails and the acrylic is pink, so no polish flaking. I do a fill every six weeks. I absolutely love them and don't know why more women don't try it.
The tech didn't say this dip polish technique was acrylic she said it was like the gel polish but non damaging. I'm more concerned with the tenderness and pain I'm experiencing. I don't know if I'm allergic or what! This cant be normal!
I recently used Rossi and at home dip kit to put on my nails and I love how they look but they are a little thicker than I like my nails to be. I also have a very tender sore her nails now. I I applied these nails about 4 to 5 hours ago and they haven’t really gotten comfortable yet. will the soreness go away? Has anyone else experienced this before?
That doesn't sound normal. Have her remove everything immediately.
FWIW, I've been doing gels for several years and it has never damaged my nail beds. Also, my gels last four weeks before my nails grow out to where it looks weird. How much longer could powder gels last?
I did the dip powder nails for a while, in the long run it wasn't any better for my nails than acrylics and it dip powder is acrylic powder just ground up finer. I grew to dislike the dip powder plus you have to remove them and reaply them too often at a greater expensece and for me more nail damage.
