I admit that I get both Birchbox and Ipsy. I like them! I like seeing new products and getting to try stuff I've never used before. If I get something that I don't want, I always give it to someone. I paid for Birchbox for the entire year so I was able to avoid the price hike - Ipsy is still the same price and you get the little bag. So maybe start out with that one? I don't splurge on myself too often so I figured that I could do this for myself. And I have found products that I really like that I didn't know about prior.
I like the little makeup bags that Ipsy sends and I share those with family and friends
I have tried Birchbox and Ipsy. I stopped doing Birchbox because it seemed to get really cheap after the first year or two (I got it in the early days when it was only $10). I really liked Ipsy since it came in the little bags. I now work from home three days a week and really don’t need that much makeup, but overall I liked what I got with it.

Thank you both. I have heard that about Birchbox before. I know Boxycharm is kind of new....I am hoping to find someone who subscribes to it.

I would rather avoid those videos if possible...Lol. They are usually 20 or 30 minutes long & a little annoying....a lot of talking between the real content & lots are teenagers. I'd like to hear from 30 to 35 yr olds about the products. It is so much easier to just read a couple opinions for a couple of minutes in a forum than try to search for videos that would not be annoying. I love to try new things tho, so I will probably give it a whirl....
I love Ipsy. It's my little treat to myself. I get excited when it arrives each month and I"ve customized it to the point of just getting things I want. I don't "know" if I'll resubscribe when it's done because I have so many little bags now but it has definitely been fun.
I used to get Birchbox ages ago but I found I was just developing a pile of samples I never used for a lot of the stuff, so I stopped. If you'll actually use up all the stuff you get then it's fine.
I did Ipsy when it first started up until a year ago. I liked it, but after a while I had too much lol It was great for finding brands and products I now know I like.
