I need to travel from PHX to Chicago in July.

Living in Phoenix I have a wide assortment of dressy sandals. I need to find a pair of shoes suitable for a business meeting, probably closed toe. They have to be comfortable enough for lots of walking as I'll be leaving mid-day to come back to Phoenix.

I have wide feet and a slim ankle. Can't wear a high heel. Needs to be under 2". I have several pairs of Rockport sandals, but I don't know about their pumps.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a brand or style? How about a peep toe shoe?
Comfort and professional is key!

Low pump or nice flats would be fine. Depending on how causal the office is dressy sandals (which I don't think Rockports are) may be OK but I'd err on the side of caution and wear a closed-toe shoe.

Look into Clarks. Or, if you have high arches or issues like planar fascitis, Vionic makes some nice styles. The Delilah Flat is my go-to work shoe. Not cheap, but definitely worth it.

Check out Dansko. They make work appropriate shoes and they run wide. Their shoes are very stable. If you are visualizing clogs, be assured they make other styles!

Any comfortable brand of wedge or block heel loafer
lower heeled and dressier style espadrille might be ok if you are more business casual since it is summer

Thanks everyone. I've been looking through Zappo's and haven't found anything that trips my trigger. I really hate ordering from them and having to send stuff back if it doesn't work out.

When I traveled extensively for work, I had the same issue. Found that a wedge was much more comfortable for walking and standing (think trade shows). They just distribute the weight more evenly than a heel, even a block heel.

Really? I love that. I find it easier than having to deal with going to the mall. LOL!
