At age 66 I do wear leggings and IF I wanted to wear a skirts with them I sure would do so. I have never really cared what people think about what I wear or do, tho. So far I have had a really nice life doing that!

I work out at a gym where there are lots of Old men and women. The Old men wear shorts and T-shirts, usually very worn T-shirts with slogans or ads on them. The Old women wear gym clothes, either leggings or shorts. Some of them have no figure at all, but who cares? And what else are they supposed to wear?

I'm mid 50s and haven't worn skirted leggings. I wear regular and capri leggings all the time, including to work (business casual with an emphasis on the casual). I wear them with a nice top, not just a t-shirt and casual but nice, non-sneaker shoes.

For some reason, I feel like the skirted leggings seem more casual, though, and perhaps over the line of pure casual vs. business casual. I could get some and wear them on weekends, I suppose.

Older women in very trendy outfits look silly. Skirted leggings fall into that definition

Skirted black leggings for race walking? That would make perfect sense to me.

It makes such perfect sense to me that I Googled "skirted leggings" to make sure I understood why anyone would even ask the question.

And I'm 65+ myself.

Skirted legging are not trendy for anybody over the age of 6

But wear what you are comfortable in OP. I'd never wear it, but I wouldn't think anything of it if I saw it. I will say athletic leggings are a totally different material than thinner fashion leggings. I see women of all ages in them at the gym, because that's what they are for. Wear what you feel okay in.

If you're walking in the park, it makes sense to wear attire appropriate to walking in the park. Leggings aren't an inappropriate choice. I wouldn't worry about it.
