My favorite brand of comfort shoe by far is Clarks, and have several pairs of their sandals. For active wear, I have their fisherman sandals; but sadly I don't think they are made anymore. The brand Keen, however; does make them, you might check them out.

I'm mainly looking for casual/lifestyle styles, not really sneakers, although you can mention those too.

I have a pair of shoes very much like these, except they're brown. Probably THE most comfortable shoes I have. I mostly wear them in the Fall/Winter because of the color, and with jeans. (Might be more casual than you want...but they truly are very comfortable. https://www.google.com/search?q=shoe...=1571670743027

I recently bought these: https://www.dansko.com/kristen-slate-suede
I got them from 6pm or Zappos or somewhere other than Dansko.com. I'm a mobile DJ on the weekends and have to stand for 4-5 hours at a time and I was looking for something with nice arch support, cushioning and just overall comfort and I ADORE these shoes.

Allbirds are great. I am on my 4th pair now. I have the regular sneakers, the rain sneaker and the loungers. All are fine with walking for a while, until they wear out of course. Now that I am dealing with plantar fasciitis, they are not as comfy for me. But still fine for all day, most days with lots of walking.

I also like Eccos. I am rotating allbirds, Eccos and Birkenstock’s right now.
Thanks for the detailed info! I agree that Rothy's are the kind of shoes that I'd wear all day for the 1st time. ANY shoe I try, I'll definitely test it out before I even think about packing it at all for a trip.

To me, Rothy's just seems good enough for maybe a 5-8-hour workday in which you sit down a little throughout the day, but yet still want something somewhat comfy.

I wouldn't buy Bernie Mev again either personally.

Jade408, when I was dealing with plantar fasciitis, I bought a pair of these, and they were/are (I still wear them) a life saver. Extremely comfortable, and easy to walk in. https://www.google.com/search?q=skec...=1571690320485

Yes, they are absolutely fine for a work day. But my workday used to include a 1 mile walk on each end. And now a 4-5 mile bike ride each way. They do not hold up for that since the soles are thin and there is no support.

If I am just walking around the stores casually for a bit, they do not work. Or for a long day walking around.

Thank you for the recommendation! I have been using compression support socks at night and arch sleeves during the day when I have pain and they are helping a ton. I am not yet pain free, but things are getting better.

I've been making a concerted effort to go to yoga classes as well, and I have seen improvements. My pain is concentrated to one foot mostly.

I had plantar fasciitis also and though my feet no longer hurt, I must wear comfy shoes. I love Clarks. Also I had a pair of naturalizers that had a slight wedge and they no longer make, they were the best shoes I ever had. I have a pair of Easy Spirit backless slip ons that are pretty good too. No heels anymore. I've been looking for some sort of clog slipper, the kind that look like a croc but have padding and flannel or something inside. I noticed nobody mentioned crocs. I think they would make my feet sweat!

New Balance shoes. If possible find an authorized retailer from the New Balance website. The higher end priced New Balance shoes are still made in the USA and their build quality is more consistent than their cheaper foreign produced shoes. An authorized retailer should measure both your feet, watch you walk, talk to you about your foot needs, and then make recommendations from there for you to try. I’m on my feet a lot at work at a hospital so I use the New Balance shoes made for US Postal workers. They’ve lasted longer than other types. Some of those other types were lighter and more comfortable but only lasted about 4 to 5 months because of the miles I put on them at work daily. The postal shoes lasted 8 to 10 months. They come in many different widths and offer many specific technologies for your needs.

My girlfriend is obsessed with this brand. She basically did what I did with my sneakers when I went all Adidas, including sandals, and now buys all Vionic everything, including the sandals. She says her feet and arches feel great.
