I found a decent price on Nautica loafers on Amazon, but it is sold by a third party seller. I wonder, what are the odds I get a fake? There are no reports of fakes in the reviews, so I wonder if it is safe. I don't think Nautica is as heavily counterfeited as other brands.

Check Zappos for the style. If they closely match, then I think you might be OK. But, I have decided to never buy from third party sellers because of the widespread counterfeiting.

Amazon has a ton of buyer protection. If you get them and feel they are counterfeit, return for a refund. Where is the 3P seller? US? China?

With my favorite brand I bought a few products from eBay and I don't think I have ever gotten a fake. In the case of Nautica, I don't think counterfeiting Nautica products is as widespread compared to Polo Ralph Lauren or Tommy Hilfiger, but I can't be 100% sure that it doesn't exist somewhere in the world.

Why bother faking a cheap pair of loafers?

Exactly.

IMO, Nautica would rank somewhere near the bottom of the list of possibly receiving counterfeit items.

I have decided to order them. There are no reports of fakes and the seller appears to have a good reputation.

For brands like Polo Ralph Lauren, for sure. But in Nautica's case, I'm not sure if the brand is high-end or popular enough to be worthwhile to counterfeit. Usually, brands that are counterfeited are either higher end or extremely popular.

Not a lot of substance to this article, but it does discuss potential counterfeit Nautica products - https://oureverydaylife.com/how-to-t...-12293619.html

Hopefully yours will be real, though
