KGW’s Maggie Vespa was criticized online for wearing high waisted pants on the air.

Some random male viewer decided he did not like seeing her in a certain type of clothing, and thought it was appropriate to tell her what she should be wearing.

Vespa, replies, to the point, in a classy way. It is amazing to me that men feel it is their right to criticize how women, whom they do not know, dress.

"high-waisted"? All the styles she wore sat at her natural waist, it looks like. She's just a short-waisted person. But I wouldn't say they look bad.

I've heard many guys complain about the high-waisted pant trend. I wear pants just like those to work all the time. Sorry, boys, it's not for you.

You know what?

Those slim, tapering pants that pretty much every dude is wearing now -from sweats to suits to jeans - look effin' ATROCIOUS to me. Ridiculous and stupid. Then add their giant waddly duck shoes that perch out from the tapered ankle...omg.

But somehow I've managed to mind my own business and refrain from telling friends, coworkers, strangers, and random celebrities this.

Bc what they choose to wear and what they like IS NONE OF MY BUSINESS. What they feel good in and enjoy is their thing. Rock on, dudes. You do you.

Let women do whatever without always having to throw your opinion out at her. It's getting so old.

I'm not sure why she's responding to an internet troll. Does she respond this way to all comments like this? Maybe someone could recommend just ignoring them to her. Many celebrities just ignore trolls and hateful comments, it seems to work out just fine for them.

Don’t nearly all women feel a need to comment on how many men dress? I am a walking target for piles of criticism from what I read on here. I’m a middle aged guy who just about lives in T-shirts, shorts and, God forbid, sandals (comfortable and kinda fancy flip flops). SHUDDER!

I could care less what others think much less random women I don’t know, why can’t she just ignore the trolls?

Sadly, women trash what other women are wearing, too.

I have literally never been in a group of women where anyone said anything negative about a guy's clothes.

FFS, a woman can never get it right. Either it's too revealing/slutty, or it's frumpy and unattractive. There's no way to win.

Sure, she could ignore them. Or she could call it out like the bad behavior it is. I mean, I know our parents always told us "if you ignore the kids making fun of you, they'll stop." I don't know anyone that actually worked out for, do you? It just meant they knew they had carte blanche to keep it up because you didn't respond/put across that it wasn't acceptable.

I know I've seen people on local news wear some ugly/odd outfits. But to go to the trouble to find them on social media and provide them with an unsolicited opinion about it is a step beyond.
