How are mens corded shavers supposed to be used in such a way so the power cord wont get in the way?? What special arrangements are to be made so the power socket and wall mirror are set up properly? Would a wall mirror and power outlet combination have to be custom made??

My husband's shaver has a cord that pops out for use. He plugs it in to recharge it. That said, we do have outlets close to the edges of each mirror. We also have mirror with an outlet towards the middle. I guess the mirror people cut out the outlet. There is a mirror cover over the outlet. I think it's pretty common.

Well, the traditional 1950s medicine chest/bathroom light combo has an electrical outlet right there at the light.

If you have a bathroom with no outlet near where you want to use the shaver, or the outlet's poorly located, you may want to relocate the outlet - no one here can guide you on that, you need to decide that yourself and engage an electrician.

Of course you could always use a light gauge indoor-service extension cord - a shaver doesn't draw much current.

Are electric shavers with a fixed cord (not rechargeables) even made any more?

Lastly, you could learn to shave without looking. I shave in the shower (not electric, I use a safety razor) and have done for 30+ years; I know where my beard stops and my hair starts, so I don't need to see to shave. With a little practice you could learn to do the same (not the "in the shower" bit, the "without looking" bit). How do you think the guys shaving with battery shavers while they drive to work are doing it?

Why not get a cordless shaver? It would probably be cheaper than having an outlet installed.

Because a cordless shaver would be too easy! How do modern men who love to use a corded shaver do it?? How do they find a comfortable wall mirror/power outlet combo???

They hire an electrician and tell them where to install an outlet? (or do it themselves if they know how to properly cut into the wall, mount and install one)
