It looks like Kohl's is going more upscale by adding Tommy Hilfiger. It will be available at 600 locations and will also be available at Kohls.com.

I presume this will be a "coupon excluded" brand. I wonder if this is displacing Chaps on the men's side at Kohl's since Kohl's did announce it will be dropping the Chaps brand. This could be a more upscale complement to IZOD (another PVH brand sold by Kohl's) for those who are willing to trade up.

It looks like Kohl's is trying to become more like Belk, adding more upscale brands than JCPenney, but not quite up to the level of Macy's. I just wonder if JCPenney will try to counter by adding Nautica.

I find Tommy Hilfiger for Men and Women at TJ Maxx. It may not be the largest selection, but I like what they have.

That would be a disappointment if Kohl's got rid of the Chaps line, even if it was only Men's.

I like Kohl's and buy a lot of Chaps Men and Women, also buy Columbia and Levi's.

Both men's and women's Chaps are leaving as far as I know.

Other retailers that sells Chaps are Belk and Amazon. However, starting with the Fall 2021 collection Chaps will move to a fully licensed out business model and will no longer directly marketed or designed by Ralph Lauren Corporation, even though RL will still own the brand. Perhaps Kohl's move to drop the brand could be tied into this.

I don't know if I would call Tommy upscale.

Maybe back in the day when I was young and dinosaurs ruled the Earth, but not for many years.

More like Macy's/middle class wear.

Well, I would consider it a premium (NOT luxury) brand. Economy are brands such as Hanes, Gildan, and Fruit of the Loom, while mid-tier are brands such as IZOD and Chaps, which are among existing Kohl's brands (although the latter is being dropped). Tommy Hilfiger is a tier above.

I though Kohl's is a discount department store. Is Tommy Hilfiger upscale or even premium??

I just wonder, could JCPenney try to compete by adding Nautica? While Nautica isn't quite to the level as Tommy Hilfiger nowadays in terms of prestige or price, they were their 1990s rival.
