I have had gay male and straight female hairdressers, and some were talkative, some not, all pretty good. The biggest difference I noted is that the gay men(except one) tended to give more of an extreme style cut. The women were more likely to give a slight shaping instead of a huge CUT.

I did get a pedicure from a straight guy who I think was the owner of my nail salon. I could tell by the way he looked at and massaged my legs, and his polish job stunk!

He gave me a nice firm foot and calf massage, but bad polish. He told me the color I chose was "sexy". Note to self- request the little guy with the Yorkie next time.

I wouldn't go anywhere that charged me $100 for a haircut. That's stupid.

I personally think men do better jobs than woman on color and cuts regardless if they are gay or not

I like men - gay or straight - to cut my hair - I trust them much more than women.

My hairdresser is gay, but I didn't really seek him out for that. He just does an amazing job, and I pay more than $100 per visit. But it's totally worth it.

He's actually sort of quiet, but it's obvious that he's gay when he speaks and with his mannerisms. He's great and I've known him for a very long time. He does scalp massage while I'm being treated... Where's the smilie with the slack face...

[quote=Oregon Transplant;4918634]They should be in the movies, they act so gay and fulfill every stereotype of a gay hairdresser.

Hummm they "ACT" so gay?
have you ever thought that maybe, and just maybe...its not an act? Besides, gays come in different shapes, sizes, attitudes, styles etc...how is it that someone would ACT gay? Just curious?!

Regardless, my hairstylist is a straight female, who i have been seeing for years. Regardless of her sexuality or not... I go to her because i enjoy my hair after i leave.

I'm gay and find a lot of gay men to be really annoying and poor listeners....just my two cents.
