I was researching some of the back to school trends and came across the subject of ankle boots. I’ve never been able to wear ankle boots comfortably; because I always feel they’re not completely on my feet! With most boots you usually have to zip them up to a certain point and when you stand on them they feel like they feel like their being worn correctly (unless your in the wrong size or your calves are too big which is another thread) anyway,……………..ankle boots leave me feeling like I have on an incomplete shoe!

Anyone else annoyed with the concept?

I prefer the ankle length--the taller boots make me feel like I can't flex my ankles! The shorter boots still give you a great look under jeans or pants without the bulk and hassle! They're much easier to get off and on, too! I like them!

Ankle boots are so uncomfy to me. I don't really know what to wear them with in the first place. I've never been a fan of that style. I love the taller boot. I wear those 'rider style'- I swear I look like I'm on my way to a polo match or something but they're great.

I don't think ankle boots are that useful. I bought several pairs last year and only wore them with skinny jeans. They're not that versatile; I would never wear them with a skirt or dress. But I do prefer them over tall boots for some reason... well I don't like tall boots either really.

Actually, nearly all my foot-ing are boots. Hiking boots, work boots, dress boots, ankle, knee and thigh highs, no bother at all. Maybe one pair of converse and a pair of mary-janes, thats it. Im a boot girl all the way!

When it comes to boots, I only wear ankle boots. Easier to put on and take off and less bulky. I almost never wear skirts or dresses so that's not an issue for me. I have a high instep so taller boots present a problem.

I wouldn't wear them with skirts (although some of the new "fashions" are showing those "booty-shoes), but under boot-cut jeans, they look just like a tall boot. I mean, the pantleg is over the boot, so you never see anything except the foot portion!

I love wearing my ankle boots as long as the ankle area is covered by my clothing.

But then again I love almost any length boots as long as they have high heels and are adorable. (I'm one of those girls who are ALWAYS in heels. >.< )

They have always been uncomfortable. I was drawn to them to wear with jeans since I have such amazingly muscular calves. Well, I used to. Moving on, they would always cut into the back of my leg. Ouch. So, it's full-on boots or just shoes of some sort for me.

I agree with the fact that they aren't versatile. I'm a boot girl & almost always choose my knee highs over ankle boots, even with pants. They are loose around my upper ankle & rub against my skin in an uncomfortable way when I walk. That's my beef with ankle boots.
