Default A question for hairdressers

I have ash dk blonde/brown hair with a bit of gray here and there. I want to go naturel as long as my hair doesn't look drab.
I saw a product called Fanciful rinse in white minx (Roux or Revlon) which is supposed to enhance gray and remove yellow tones.
Would this be something good to try to enhance my gray, while not commiting me to something permanent?
Any reason why I shouldn't try it?

PS-I think hairdressers should have their own forum, like realtors do.

Not a hairdresser but you may want to check out the jhirmack purple shampoo:
Buy Jhirmack Shampoo, Silver Brightening Online at drugstore.com

I used that when my hair was white plat. blonde to keep it from looking yellow and dull.
Rinse well to avoid any old lady purple hue. They also have conditioner and hair spray.

You may wish to start with a clarify type shampoo. Product build up like conditioner and styling products make hair yellow.

I have seen the shampoo, but I wanted something with more ooomph. Something that will really silver and shine up my gray, but not change my other haircolor.

It counters the yellow buy having a blue hue in the shampoo...so if your grey is yellowing it would help brighten your grey hairs...BUT, if you have blonde hair, the blue in this shampoo might 'stain' your blond hairs as well...maybe the ends... Then again it may not...it depends on the condition of your hair...

All you can do is try it...It is not perm so it is fixable if you don't like it...

It does. And if it doesnt it s really nice shampoo.
My father has that 100% white hair and its the only shampoo he uses.
Random people always stopped him and compliment him on it.

The build up from your shampoo and products could be the thing that is making it dull too.

Pantene makes a lavender shampoo for gray/silver hair, which I use...works well. I am almost 62 and about half gray...it looks like my hair has been highlighted.

I just bought this to try. That's the effect I was going for. Thanks.

i've just about given up on my hair. i have a few random straggly gray hairs that i was getting covered by getting highlights, but then my hair started to look fried from too much bleaching. i can't win!
