All he can hear are the voices in his head telling him anyone that is different is subhuman, and to be looked down upon.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What one finds beautiful others may not, I feel if someone wants to tattoo themselves then that is their right to do so without being judged by others.

The presence of visible tattoos will always be judged by others. Some will like them, some will be indifferent and some will dislike them. I will be in the latter group. That does not mean you should not get tattoos. Just don't expect everyone to share your enthusiasm.

There's already another thread about how ugly tattoos are. Is it so threatening to you that, yeah, they might feel beautiful? And they just might not regret them? And that there is no right or wrong, it's just personal preference?

I am somewhat indifferent when it comes to tatoos. I will never understand why some folks choose to have tatoos all over their whole body, but I try not to be judgemental. For me personally I have never wanted one.Whatever floats your boat.
For me I would never want a tatoo that I could not see whenever I wanted to, so that would rule out any on my back. I would never want any on areas where I might see a lot of sagging or extra skin as I lose weight. I have just started trying to lose a hundred or so pounds. As I am nearly forty that goes for aging skin as well. That pretty much rules out about seventy-five percent of my entire body.
Not to mention the fact that my husband would probably think that his wife had been kidnapped by aliens LOL!

There's a big difference between simply 'not being enthusiastic' about tattoos and treating people with tattoos as somehow subhuman, or lesser members of society.
I really really don't like when women dye their hair that nearly white bleach blonde color, I think it looks ridiculous. BUT, I will also not judge them as a person because they are doing something I don't find attractive. There are people on this board who say that everyone who has a tattoo is less intelligent than those who have none (regardless of schooling or career...). They say they will not give a chance to anyone with tattoos and automatically judges them as inferior.

You just did judge hair coloring There are people on this board who say that everyone who has a tattoo is less intelligent than those who have none (regardless of schooling or career...). I do not judge them as inferior human beings as you do with people who are tattooed.
Aberrant? Yes, and damn proud of it.

But that aberrant behavior makes most main line people not want to get to know them.
I do not judge them as inferior human beings as you do with people who are tattooed. It's human instinct to be wary of someone abnormal. That is why primitives have tattoo's. To send the message " beware of me, I'm unfriendly".
Aberrant? Yes, and damn proud of it. It is a known fact that humans form an opinion of a person in the first 10 seconds they see them. That is why any form of Aberrant behavior is unwelcome. You can do a lot of things in your life but overcoming human instinct isn't one of them.
