If you are the only one with a hat on in a large crowd, you will probably be noticed. Some may even think you look like some kind of a dork, but Childish? Nope, you won't look childish.

A lot would depend on the hat (or cap) and where you are. We have a nephew that always wears an expensive western style hat. Looks good on him.....except when he wore it to his own wedding and didn't remove it even for the ceremony. Now that made him look like a jerk. Probably would wear it to a funeral too. It takes all kinds to make this world go around.

In other words, wear what you want to. Just remember that there are some times and some places where others might think you should be bareheaded.

Nope. Not over. Just dormant.

So so nice.

Oh, and I agree that cowboy hats can go either way. Sometimes they look retarded, especially if overly large and pressed down against the tops of the ears. I do love this kind however:

However...my boyfriend's military beret that he has to wear as part of his uniform looks tres sexy.
What if the hat isn't worn too low to where you could still see their face?

To me, baseball hats inevitably look like the man is balding and ashamed of it, and thus trying to cover it up. Guys, if you're going bald, just shave it off, don't try to hide it! Smooth heads are much sexier than a ballcap.

Baseball caps are appropriate in certain situations. When doing outdoorsy things, working in the yard, sports events, etc. Beyond that, I find them unattractive. I ALWAYS find cowboy hats unattractive, but maybe it's just the personality of the people that wear them that make it so.

Nothing sexier than a fedora, though.

I guess I never gave this much thought - I've never looked at a guy wearing a hat and thought it was childish. There are some types of hats I don't like - but to each his own.

My husband wears a ball cap all the time. We are in Colorado, at altitude. The sun here is intense. His head would be burnt all the time if he didn't wear a cap. We do a lot of outdoor things - concerts, hiking, yard work, etc. Doesn't even cross my mind as being childish. I guess because so many people here wear them, it's not like he sticks out in a crowd. I even wear one when I run. I can't stand wearing sunglasses when I'm running but I have to keep the sun out of my face/eyes.

Hats on men? Sure, why not. I'm with the other person who said no baseball caps worn backwards. It makes men look ridiculous unless they're on the ballfield.

I think hats on men are fine. With the exception of ski caps (touques) in the summer which makes men look like illiterate thugs.

I love cowboy hats! They rock.
