I know....I think its because everyone is in denial of the body shape and whats flattering and fashionable at the same time. Dig around on "what not to wear" and the BBC version of it. You will get some tips.
But I was refering to the snarky comments that just stink of bitter old biddie.

I agree with you on not liking stretch jeans. I haven't found any 100% cotton that aren't either super expensive or have no style whatsoever, it seems only the very low and very high end are made without stretch. Even expensive, 1-2% stretch I don't like that much. They don't wear as nicely and don't have as nice of shape, at least the ones I've found. They are more comfortable, but for going-out jeans I'd rather have no stretch. And, since all of you seem so concerned with size, this isn't a case of "I'm fat, or think I'm fat, and that's why I don't like them." I think the non-stretch just have a different look.

I also got mine at Ross for a really great price and love them! They are super comfortable and look wonderful.
I think the trick in buying jeans is to find one brand with the perfect cut for your body style and stick with them. If they don't fit right, you'll never be happy with them regardless of body size.

You could try Old Navy. They have different rises - classic rise comes up to the waist, mid rise to just below the waist, and there is low rise. They're 100% cotton, and they're cheap - $25! You could see online all the styles and sizes, better selection than at the store.

I found some jeans 4 years ago in here in London at our equivilant to Ross. Perfect fit. Low cut and stretch that I could wear without a belt...they were perfect. They've stopped making them and I've just about worn out the ones I have and desperatly looking for another perfect fit.

Land's End or L.L.Bean would probably have some that are all cotton.

Check second-hand clothing stores. I find a LOT of jeans there that are barely worn, and sometimes still have tags on them. Plus, they're inexpensive!
