Instead of the money on the spanx, put it towards the gym! Instead of the time looking for the stuff, spend it working out! My purpose is not to offend, its just better for your health!!!
I'm not offended, I just think you are incredibly rude.

Even people who are thin and in shape sometimes need a Spanx type garment. I don't know about you, but when I wear a form fitting jersey knit dress, I want something underneath so my underwear line doesn't show. It just looks nicer. They make shapewear in all sizes, not just large sizes.

Also, as we age, even if we stay in good shape, smoothing garments just make your outfit look better.

I have a few outfits for that. Outfits that fit when I put on a few. Dresses mostly.

I have too much pride in my appearance to buy clothes that do not flatter my shape, which I have in abundance.

I do not choose fabrics that would allow the aforementioned "cottage cheese" to show through. I do not buy clothes that bind in such a manner as to create a "muffin top". I am not bound & determined to shove my body into clothes that don't fit simply to tell myself I am a size X or to wear a designer that does not make clothing that fits my shape. If I need a garment to make my clothes look good I have not made wise choices when I bought them.

Well all my outfits are for everything I want to do..LOL
I refuse to buy "raggin it" outfits. My clothing doesn't bind but my torso sure sticks out when bloated. I really like the examples they had on some late night shaper tv commerical with some plus sized ladies. They just looked so much more comfortable/neater than without. I could get away with it more easily when I wore larger sizes/was bigger. They seem to cut things over a 10 with some room for bloat. Anything under an 8 you can forget that charity.

I do have to wonder as well if someone were losing a lot of weight and always wore spanx as a compression undergarment...would that help the skin shrink up better? I have to think it would help.

Interesting thread. I never even heard of spanx. Since I don't wear anything but jeans I don't think I'd buy. But if I had to dress up or go out that might be a different story. Things do tend to go south as we age lol.

What the heck is a muffin top?

Ah. Yeah my husband might like that but I would "never" leave the house like that. Not that it's too much I just have a little fluff as my husband says.

Try the flexees shapewear for smoothing.
I recently saw an episode of what not to wear and noticed stacey was wearing her spanx leg slimmers!
