Due to some lawsuit the cosmetic companies had to give away something for free to consumers. The program started today and only runs as long as supplies last. Only good at major department stores too. I did not go but my mother did and she told me they were lined up down the sidewalk at the doors this morning waiting for the stores to open. The stores and/or cosmetic lines got to pick what item they would give away and no proof of any kind of purchase was needed. She told me the few things she had to pick from and none of them were worth me going and standing in line waiting for. If I could have gotten a tube of lipstick that would have worked.
From what I heard from those that ventured to do it........ most department stores were out of stock by lunch. They only had to do so many giveaways and it was "while supplies last" so once the store was out they were done w/ it.
I went yesterday. The first time I checked in Macys the line was huge. I came back 2 hrs later and the line was almost gone. I got a Lancome mascara. They had run out of some items by the time I got there.
I went on the first day. There were a handful of people at Nordstrom, two or three at Dillards and no one at Macy's. I got Lancome mascara. My mother went by the same Macy's a little later, around 2:00, walked in got her face cream and walked out. To be fair it was inauguration day and I think most people were busy with that or at work. I did not see anything in the local news around here about the settlement at all. I had signed up when the lawsuit was in full swing and I received an e-mail around the 18th letting me know of the settlement.
