I just wondered if anyone had an opinion on this: if you wear a ponytail that is long, thick and wavy, what type of bangs would look best? Cutting straight across looks stupid with a wavy ponytail, so I am thinking shaggy and, of course, down to the bottom of my brows. Agreed or not?

I would say long, shaggy and sideswept. This seems more modern and avoids looking too "school girl."

Thanks for the idea. I hadn't thought of that one.

I wear a ponytail a lot, have long, wavy hair, and medium-weight, longer bangs that are piecy and longer around the sides of my face seem to work well. Almost as if the outer edges of the bangs are light, face-framing layers as much as they are bangs. They can easily be sideswept, and look natural, not severe.

Sounds like my hair when I don't straighten it. I have eye skimming bangs, slightly longer on the sides, and they sweep to the side well, especially as they grow. My hairdresser cuts into them so they are not perfectly even and blunt. Perfectly straight, blunt bangs are very hard to pull off. They can also look wig-like, which is not a great look.

Bangs require trimming every 3-4 weeks or so, and so being able to sweep them over when they get a bit long is a good option to have if you can't get to the hairdresser that often.

These bangs are really nice:

Longer side swept bangs...Maybe have your face framed out a bit so you little whisps around your face...or you could put the whisps behind your ears...

I agree--swept bangs are best. Board straight ones are hard to pull off and don't always do justice to one's face. You should consider cutting them yourself. That way you can start with them long and trim slowly! Salon Hive has a great pair of titanium shears for trimming and thinning. Ninja Shears 5.5" Titanium Cutting and Thinning Shears - Salon Hive (http://www.salonhive.com/ninja-shears-5-5-titanium-cutting-and-thinning-shears.html - broken link) They've also got videos to get you started! Sounds like you have great hair. If your bangs aren't cut, have you tried to pull it all back into your pony-no bangs, play up your eyes with shadows and well trimmed brows. This looks great with the scarves that are poppin now. Shaggy bangs will also work great with your wavy hair. Just do YOU!
