Slightly Used makeup
Question: I only wear Mac makeup and have spent probably almost $2k over time on it. My question is that I have several lipsticks/blushes/eye shadows that were maybe used 1-4 times and am no longer using them. I would like to sell them. You think its possible and how? I know you can't sell used makeup on Ebay. Any other options?? TIA

Are you sure you can't sell it on e-bay. I wasn't aware of that and sold lots on e-bay; although its been at least 5 or 6 years ago. Garage sales are another way to go although you won't get nearly as much. If its very clean and barely used its a good way for some to try cosmetics they otherwise couldn't take a chance on. Good luck.

I guess you can try it. I'm not sure if it's legal or not though. I personally would not buy any used makeup. It's not sanitary

Well I know about the sanitary issues with it and am wondering if I can some how sanitize the lipsticks? The blushes and eye shadows were all used with Mac brushes but not that really matters.

I don't think there's a real problem with the blushes assuming they are the powdery ones, people can and will just scrape off the top if they want. Brushes can be washed. Lipstick - well that's another story. People will buy it and if you know you've treated it well, why not sell it with a clear conscience as long as e-bay will still allow it. Or do the yard sale thing.

Maybe friends would buy it? I wouldn't buy used makeup from a stranger but from a friend it would be ok.

You know, you all say this and while, I also would not choose to buy used cosmetics, there really are many people out there for whatever reason, will purchase slightly used/sampled cosmetics and are very happy to be able to do so. If the OP wants to do so and there are others who are comfortable with it, let the transactions be! Look at it as recycling. Do you realize how much money is wasted on products that women buy, try once and then realize its not their shade, etc. Himain, if you are able to list it on e-bay or put it out at a yard sale, it will sell - guarantee. I have always sold every bit I have put out at a yard sale to young girls, middle aged women and little old ladies, who get a kick out of rummaging through the stuff and get a chance to give some product a try that they wouldn't think of paying retail for. No one will say they would buy it. But if you put it out; they will buy it

I would never buy or even use someone else's make-up. Sorry, it's just gross and unsanitary.

Whether makeup is slightly used or well-used, it is still used. Trying to sell used make up is horribly unsanitary. I would not even share my makeup with a close friend. It's like sharing a toothbrush. You can put that in a sale too, but it is like trying to sell garbage to someone who doesn't know any better. Not cool.
This link will give you just a few of the medical reasons why it is such a bad idea:
