Any fashion item or accessory you really got into but were quickly turned off by when everyone started buying it?
I'm not usually a trendy person but I sure liked Coaches until I started seeing them everywhere I went. I started to feel like a Stepford wife and quit carrying mine. I now carry off-brands. But then, that's what I thought Coach was at first.

Off brand doesn't necessarily have to be cheap (or does it? Maybe I used the wrong word). Ever been to one of those hole-in-the-wall boutiques that, seemingly, no one's heard of, yet, their prices are outrageous?
Not just in fashion, but also in home decor, I lose interest in anything that all of a sudden everyone else is buying. I like being different....not wired or eccentric....just unique stuff.

My home is very Victorian--wing-back chairs, lamps (nearly 20 so far), etc. I've seen some say Victorian creeps them out and I've yet to be in anyone's home that's largely the same style.
Did I mention, even tho' I've retired my Coach I'm still in mourning over it? I've never been fond of trends.

I like being eclectic, I'm not into clutter, I just own a lot of stuff I really like!

That's how my sister was. She'd alter anything she bought. My daughter and I always tried to get her into fashion design but she didn't want to make everyone else look as good as she did--half tongue-in-cheek, half reality--b'c she really made heads turn when she walked in a room. Little did she realize, it had little to do with her clothes. She had a beautiful aura about her and people just flocked to her since she was very little.

I never considered Coach to be an off-brand, and I never considered paying their prices.
Vintage. I loved it way back when....now it seems like people are buying 'new' vintage and that really bugs me.
