I recently bought a leather bomber-style jacket at a local thrift store. I paid $12.99 for it.
Yes, it is real leather, not vinyl.

I'm gonna be selling it at a yard sale
This highly depends on the brand name and style.
Also where you live. In some areas things just sell more.
Why don't you search a resale sight online in your area to see that price similar items are going for?
All things are only worth what people are willing to pay for it. You might want to even place a sign saying negotiable on it to see what someone is willing to pay for it.

Please note when people go to garage sales they are looking for rock bottom prices and not department store clearance prices. Smart shoppers usually know how to get new items at huge discounts. So if you over price it ... it likely wont sell. Also many people with negotiate anyways ex you price at $50... they may approach offering $30.

I think I'll sell it for $15.
Are you sure it is real leather? That sounds like a really low price for real leather. Based on the item I would say $10 to $20 would be reasonable.

That is the reality of the resale clothing market. Unless you have something extremely high end and unique the value resale in nominal. If I could get a full length real mink coast for $100 it just goes to show how little clothing/coats maintain value. Leather jackets resale prices are also highly dependent on the style/cut of the coats. The most I have ever paid for a re-sale leather jacket was $90 and it was bought in this trendy town vintage shop. It really leather, red, long trench coast cut. Loved it ... took it to England and destroyed it wearing it in the rain lol.

I've posted this thread back in 2009 and I eventually gave it away to a locally owned thrift store that is very charitable towards giving children affordable dental care.
