Mom jeans?
Can someone tell me what is meant by "Mom jeans"? If you could be specific ---brand, color, shape--- that would be helpful.
Thanks a bunch!

Actually, .. I just happened to have tried on a pair before Xmas .. and they fit really well.
Would have bought them if they'd been a decent price, .. did a double-take when I saw the price tag! .. somewhere around the $140 mark I think!
A higher waist than of late .. (thank heavens) .. without being too high, just really comfortable. Looked like a normal pair of dark coloured, navy jeans. Also, not too wide or skinny, and not sure of the brand .. maybe it's 'Mom' jeans?
but couldn't justify the price ..
Kind of made me wonder .. 'Moms'?!? .. how many moms are going to be able to afford these?

Mom jeans are lighted washed, pegged legged, and high waisted. They are also too tight around the lower belly area and the back pockets are really high up on the butt. Most women that wear "mom jeans" also tuck their shirts into them. <shudder>

You have to watch the SNL skit: "when you've given up..."
Those pics are perfect mom jeans! I just saw a bunch from Land's End this afternoon.

Thanks, everyone! I had a pretty good idea but I wanted to be absolutely sure before I went shopping.
By the way, any suggestions on what I should buy? I'm over 40 and a size 4.

I've always said a good pair of Levi's works well...go for a darker wash with no fading anywhere, and a straight leg is the most flattering for all shapes.

I've NEVER heard that. Boot cut is hands down the most flattering leg.
