Good links there. I have been eyeing the Maxi Dress since last year, however, I always thought that since I was plus size and on the shorter side that I couldn't pull off the look. Now I have understood maxi dresses look can be pulled off any and everyone, you just have to find the right dress for your body type.

Perhaps there are some flattering ones, but to me they look too Amish.

I think they look wonderful on taller plus sized girls, but I'm far too short to make it work for me. I need dresses that pull in around the waist and flare out to right at the knee to balance out my body. No need for the muumuu look!

I think more than Amish, they run the risk of looking nightgownish (especially the ones made of what's traditionally nightgown material, like crisp cotton or thin jersey knit). But nice detailing/embellishments and adding jewelry and cool sandals help tone down that effect.

I personally like the ones that are empire-waisted, for my build. These are a great fashion for those of us who are tall (I'm 5'9" in stocking feet, 5'10" in most of my shoes). I've heard many of my shorter friends say they didn't think they could pull off such long dresses.

They are cute. I'm tall and have nice "yams", but I hate how big my arms are. I never go sleeveless.

I just have an extremely difficult time finding the right dress to support and even cover up my girls...

wrap dresses work best for me, none of this tiny triangle stuff
