I have to agree with the majority of people here, 40's-50's are my favs. It's so well cut, well made, and feminine.

For men, I'd have to say between the late 1800's through the 1950's... some of the hippie garb... and a bit of grunge 90's as well. Men had it going on back in the day!
For women, definitely the 1920's-50's, and then, again, some of the hippie garb. Oh yeah, I have a very strange sense of taste, lol.

I'm not really into fashion- but I personally like Vintage Clothing from the 50s and early 60s. If I get some threads from the local thrift store- I prefer them to have that look. I like sports coats.
I dont care much at all for the 70s- except for maybe the hairstyles which seemed more relaxed then.
I was only a child in the 80s- so I dont remember much of that.
The 90s seemed like they went back to the 70s.
I dont know what the fashion is now. Im just an average white straight male.

Are you sure that you're not wearing 50s and 60s right now?

I like the 60s cuz I like mini dresses, the bright colors & fun patterns. I like more of the early 60s style & mod look, NOT the hippy style.
I like a little from every decade though. Women have the most options now, which is fun.

I'm a huge fan of 60's mod, as well as 30's/40's glamour, and 50's rockabilly.

I voted for the 40's even though my only impressions have been through movie's and pictures. My favorite era of my lifetime would have been the over the top 80's and thats only in hindsight. I say that because at the time I really did not like it. These last ten years to me have really been my least favorite. The tattoo and piercing era of today is not appealing to me at all. But who knows twenty years from now I might look back and change my mind and think it's was good.

I love some of the unusual styles of the 20's. Love the hats and the Art Deco jewelry.
I love the romantic, feminine flair of the 30's & 40's clothes, too. Think Rita Hayworth.
I love the radical changes of 60's styles from start of the decade to the hippy'ish look later.
Don't like the 50's with it's bobby-sox with dresses. Guy styles were okay.
Earlier-70's was fun but hated the later stuff. And, with the exception of the Fawcett 'do', I hated ALL other hairstyles of that era.
80's. Fun, but by the end of it I hoped to never see another perm again, or see thick eyebrows return.
90's ~ forgettable.
This decade ~ By the time its over I hope hip-huggers are finally gone FOREVER!

I think there's some fashion in every era that I really like - though not everything is figure-flattering on me...I couldn't wear a straight up-and-down fringed flapper dress without looking ridiculous, I have curvy hips and larger breasts, and the flapper look is made for those with angular builds. But that doesn't mean I don't love the look, just wouldn't wear it. Same with the 60s Mod trend, which is really an updating/rehashing of the roaring twenties looks.
Most flattering on me are 60's bohemain looks...gauze, denim, and artsy jewelry, leather braided belts, long, simple hair, and 70's teen tomboy looks...stovepipe or bootcut jeans, three-quarter length sleeved raglan baseball tees with color blocks, etc. All things casual and/or "earth mothery" fit my looks and personality best. Nothing too structured or staid, like most 1940s styles and Eisenhower era looks. Although they can look great, they're not for me.
I also have MUCH love for Victorian and Edwardian styles, but they can be so theatrical and costumey that they're difficult to pull off in contemporary society, unless very sparingly used and creatively adapted.
