Athletic shoes with socks, loafers in the evening... no sandals or flip flops for me. That's just too casual and most guys don't have very attractive feet and are in need of a pedicure! Wearing socks is also good for absorbing sweat and foot odor.
I have to agree. And thank goodness my SO does, too! Although, of course, such a superficial thing would only be a minor annoyance, it's still nice to know we're on the same page regarding superficial things.
A guy has to have nice legs and good looking clean feet to look good in flip flops. And I really only want to see them if he's near a body of water. Flip flops are beach wear, not city wear. And I don't want to see him driving in flip flops either.
What about sandals? Something like Adidas slides or sport sandals with the ankle strap?
Where I'm from (NZ & OZ) it's practically compulsory for both sexes to wear flip-flops (we call them jandals or thongs) in summer. Sandals are OK to. A nice pair of brown leather flip-flops or sandals look good on almost any guy.
When I first met my husband who is American he wore socks and tennis shoes in summer and I marched him down to the nearest shoe shop to buy some sandals. In Oz only north american tourists wear sock and tennis shoes with shorts in summer! BAD look and very impractical - socks in summer?! It's only acceptable if you are actually going to partake in sports. Now my husband only wears sandals and flip-flops. Oh, and tevas are NOT cool unless you are going hiking. They make your feet look really big and goofy.
I'm not much of a sandals guy, flip-flops?!?! NOPE! I do have some but I don't really wear them. I like the sandals over the flip-flops. I think I have ugly feet. A pedicure would be nice but I haven't had one of them in over a year. I have the ugly nail thing going on and have been working on it so I wear full covering shoes.
I think guys in flip-flops (not the plastic beach kind, the leather or khaki-canvas kind) are sexy. Caveat: if said guy has had a decent pedicure anytime in recent history. If you are a guy and don't even know what a pedicure IS, stick to closed shoes lol! There are actually many guys I have seen get pedicures. Not the big fu-fu paint my toes bright pink kind, but just enough to trim and cleanup their feet. My older sister's fiancee went with us for manicures once, and in honor of some special game that weekend got his toes painted bright Gator blue lol! Now THAT was a spectacle. At least she had to take him home-I didnt lol!
