More and more I notice young men and women who slouch. Especially teenagers. I remember parents and teachers who used to get on us if we slouched. We were told to sit up straight and walk with your shoulders back. Today I see so many girls who slouch, and to me that detracts from their appearance. It makes them look frumpy. I don't think parents or schools are stressing the importance of good posture, not just for appearance but for your overall health as well. Anyone else notice this?
I find I have a problem with slouching. How do I stop from doing so? What do you all have for advice for the sloucher...I did see the ballroom dance post.

Absolutely-and it makes me more aware of my own posture and I try to stand up straight and not slouch and remain conscious of it as much as possible.
I concur...I took ballroom dancing...it's awesome...builds confidence and gives better posture...well...at least you're more conscious about your posture
I agree any sport riding, yoga sitting up and pulling your spine to the full height is very important. It is amazing how much more attractive a person looks. I work in a pharmacy that is located in a grocery store and it is amazing how many woman (young and old) go by doing "the grocery cart slump". It appears that they are unable to support there own body weight and must lay almost all of there body onto the grocery cart in order to remain uprright for 30 minutes. Most woman cannot stand for 30 minutes in northern NH while actually being forced to move forward as well
