When I was a teenager and early 20's I never wore lipstick, just a tinted balm. Now I wear lipstick or a colored gloss regularly. I used to wear black liquid eyeliner, now I wear brown pencil smudged into the lash line.
One of the biggest differences I notice is that I used to only wear brown or purple eyeshadow, and I put all my eyeshadow on with the applicator that was included with the shadow. Well, now I use a brush and find that I can get away with just about any color because the brush gives it a much more natural look! The only reason I have discovered all the different colors is that I used to be a Mary Kay consultant and I still have all the samples left. It has allowed me to try colors that I would have never thought would look okay.
My daughter and her friends have a blast with all the stuff, too!
I never wore makeup, and I still rarely ever do. I do believe that there's a professional look that must be maintained, so I'll align my face to that with eyeliner, maybe a little light lipstick and some blush.
I've been blessed with perfect skin-- no need for foundation.
I will say that I, like every woman, wake up every so often and find that it's a choice between the belltower, a paper bag or some serious makeup work. Sleepless nights and long days'll do that to you.
belltower!! OMG, I hope it's not that bad!!! I rarely wear makeup also. mostly when I go out, or sometimes when I go shopping or run errands, I"ll put forth a little effort to look nice! ha!
but never to work. I just don't feel a need. and makeup just annoys me since my skin is so oily!
save room in the belltower for me!! ha!

I never wore much makeup, now wear even less. No longer wear foundation, but use the mineral powders. Sometimes blush, sometimes eye liner and eye showder (sparingly). Neutral lip color. I spend my time on the better face care products (Origins or Clinique) and eating/exercising to keep a naturally nice complexion.
I used to wear hilighter on my brow line - no more
I used to wear eye shadow - no more
I used to wear liquid black eyeliner - replaced with grey pencil smudged along lash line
I used to wear blusher - no longer, just use a very light foundation that is matched to my skin
Mascara - I still wear this but in grey
Lipstick - I used to wear vivid read - now I wear very muted colors
I used to wear full makeup everyday - I wear full make up rarely
Like Lilypad I invested in a good product, Monsia Skincare, eat healthily, exercise and keep the brain active!
In my teens and 20's I wore artsy-like eye makeup. I still play up my eyes a lot but never the same. Sometimes I wear shadow, sometimes I don't. Always eye-liner but I even change how I wear that, too. Always mascara.
Foundation, yes, although it's the first thing I can do without. I have good skin but still like some foundation for work.
Blusher - always. Much lighter touch now than before, though.
Lipstick - always. Even at home I wear a touch of it. This is the one thing I would keep if I could only have one. For travel it even doubles as my blusher. As for colors, I wear all kinds of shades depending on my clothes and moods, but I really don't like super-light shades anymore. And I'm not much into gloss. I still do like red.
And I never go out totally barefaced - it just isn't me. If I'm leaving to do some shopping I'll use some mascara, concealer, and a touch of lip color. I've always been that way.
