There was another thread similiar to this last week. The poster got toothpaste in their eye and said it whitened the eye and took the dryness away as well and wanted to know if anyone else had made this discovery?
Now, I didn't say I believe it or would ever think of giving it a try. Maybe they were a troll. I thought it a bit strange.
I say give it a try and report back here with the results! My guess is their eyes burned and watered so bad from the menthol that it cured the dryness hence the redness.

You can try a humidifier or use drops that are NOT anti-red; those only mask the problem and can possibly make your eyes worse later. My eye doctor recommended Systane and Optive to me; I prefer the Optive.
I use Rohto V, it works well in my opinion. It's readily available at places like Walgreens, CVS, etc.
