Summer is when the rubber hits the road. We're talking about flip-flops, the ubiquitous sandals that consist of little more than a sole held onto the foot by a Y-shaped thong. Flip-flops used to be relegated to the beach or the locker room, but in the last few years they seem to have become the footwear of choice for a whole generation.

Thanks for sharing that article, I remember seeing a segment on TV news where they say that most of foot and ankle injuries are from wearing flip-flops. Some would say how is that? Because of how loose the shoe is on the foot, people easly tip and fall, twist their ankle ect...
As I have expected the referenced article is a year old and that is when I heard of all of the problems that people are having wearing them. It is a good reminder for many, with wearing them be wise of how you walk and where to avoid injury.
This year on morning news TV, they spoke of the jerms and bacteria in flip-flops. Incredible! Who would have thought that there would be so much jerms on shoes or in this case the flip-flops, as well as what is getting on your feet! wow!
Later!

Reason: spelling
I wear sandals and flip flop like shoes all the time now that I live in Florida. My feet will no longer be in prison in regular shoes. In fact, if I don't have sandals or flip flops on, I am barefoot.

NO ONE will force my feet back into prison.
Nobody has the intent in forcing you to do anything like giving up your flip-flops, what I posted and what the OP is about is being informed about flip-flops.

I'm kind of playing around here, I should have added a smily face.
Notice that I am the barefoot babe...
Although I am serious about NOT having my feet in prison ever again.
