Honestly, they are probably out of style but I frankly have never noticed what anyone else is wearing on the slopes...what someone else is wearing is the last thing on my mind (unless it is totally fabulous or totally bizarre).
Most people are going with pants that are more water-resistant than wool. When I worked at Patagonia, a lot of people bought their stretchy soft-shell pants for skiing. Soft shells are more breathable and stretchy than waterproof stuff, but also keep you from getting soggy. Some have more of a "legging" look.
Leggings seem to be back in style so I don't see why that style of ski pant (wool or not) wouldn't be slope stylish. I guess you'd have to evaluate the jacket length. And of course have the figure to carry the look.
The old wool stretch stuff is rarely seen any more. I have a couple of Marker pants...similar to the style shown below. They are far superior to the old stuff...believe me!
I've been looking at wool blend stretch pants online, some of which are preowned. Tell me more about your Marker pants--fabric composition? Style? Are they as warm as the wool?
