Should 60 year old women wear bikinis?
Should 60-year old women who have very average figures (not fat but not well toned either) wear bikinis? Not the string bikini kind, but with modest coverage?

Unless your are toned and buff-no way. I am not 60 but several years away. I am not over weight but not toned and wouldn't even dream of wearing a string bikini or even a regular bikini.
I look in the mirror and know what needs to be covered. I wear a sport tankini on top (Lands End) and for the bottom a swim mini (Lands End/short skirt with panty)
For my shape I know what needs to be covered up and not look ridiculous.

Perhaps a Tank-ini would be more appropriate. Even a toned 60 is still 60. Unless we're talking in your own pool, in which case who the heck cares what you wear?

here in the islands you see all ages and shapes in bikinis. wear what you feel comfortable in. for me it isn't about the weight or your tone. for older people it is when our knees start to look like an elephant's and the skin on your arms looks a bit like crepe paper, and everything just droops, even a one piece can't cover it up. find a suit that flatters your figure and wear that.

To me ,if your posting about it, you are worried about how you look.

Regardless of age - any woman with an average figure should wear whatever she feels comfortable wearing -- and that includes a thong laws permitting. People in the US are overly concerned with appearances and what you can't or shouldn't do depending on your age - a 60 yo woman will be going to the beach to relax and enjoy herself, not show off her T&A - let her have her fun!

It depends on the person. Im 50-something and here is me with my grand daughter just last summer (last year). But then, I did gymnastics and have always had physically active jobs. Construction, truck driver, waiting tables, home cleaning....
