Where is your NYC blood? You are sounding like sooooooooooo midwest. LOL
OH NO!!!! Midwest....you might as well hang it up and die then. Because we all know that all there is in the Midwest is a bunch of fashion-challenged hillbilly dorks right?

I like the neo-woodsmen look. He could unbutton another button his shirt. Sorry I was no help to your cause.

LOL

Hey YOU said that.

You and I both know that is just such a cliche its a joke. I do notice everyone in the midwest has that tendency for the more basic look that is more a reflection of personal comfort and income. There's nothing wrong with that but its not "trendy"

I like the outfit except the belt. Belt needs to go. Yikes!

For me it's the REI catalog. I think those outdoorsy hiking/camping/rock-climbing guys look hot.

LOL on the Midwest comments. Even here in Flyover Land young, hipster dudes(and dudettes) rock the skinny jeans. IMHO only looks good if you are super-skinny, under 30 and roll fixed.

I think that keeping the current shirt, which serves its purpose, is economically and environmentally better than throwing it away and buying a new one.

There are much more serious issues to be concerned about than someone wearing flannel shirts and bluejeans.
Then why are you on a forum devoted exclusively to fashion??

The shirt would not be bad if it was a size smaller. The belt should be replaced with a plain brown leather one and his jeans are too baggy.

Hope you'lll share the reveal with us!

I don't think it's so much that they go "fashion bland" after 30. I think it's that people develop a sense of security that says, "I don't need to follow trends." (Trends being different from what's "in fashion," but still ... ) Or they develop other priorities, like spending all their time & money on their children or whatever.

I have been trying to get my husband to update his look, but it's just not working because, fundamentally, he doesn't care. And he's secure enough to say he doesn't care and mean it. It frustrates the heck out of me, and I did get him to stop wearing the guy version of Mom Jeans (old Levi wash and cut) and to untuck the occasional shirt, but he doesn't care. He was just trying to shut me up, and it's not important enough to me to waste a good "nag" on, so he'll just keep looking like he did 20 years ago. <sigh>
