I am in the process of growing a beard. Today one of my coworkers told me that I look like a mountain man. So, ladies, is that good or bad?
Full beards, nicely trimmed and groomed are very nice. They make a man look more intelligent and refined IMHO.
Forget these stupid little trendy Van Dyke and Goatees though. They are so ordinary and boring now because everybody has them. I see one and I think "brainwash" lol

I never did like facial hair on a man. It just makes him look old (I guess because there's so many, in the town that I live in, who look like they never comb or wash their beards that they look nasty and old). I prefer the clean shaven look.
Sounds like it might be time to start trimming it if its truly mountain-man worthy. I only call a beard that when it starts looking like its taking over a guy's face.
As for the facial hair debate, i think round-faced guys look tons better with beards. Only a few personality types can pull off the massive-beard look. If you're noticing any bald patches, it may be worthwhile to shape your beard to omit those areas. And they're not dirty at all unless they're unkempt. Honestly, the only facial hair I dislike is the scrawny pedo-stache.
I think it depends on the man. The most my husband has done is a 5 o clock shadow he lets go a few too many days... I do prefer a clean shaven face just because it feels good. His face gets sort of scratchy when we get close if he doesn't shave everyday but ehh..he looks hot either way. I have seen many many hot men with facial hair. I don't like just a mustache though.
Here's something really attractive ... when a guy with a 'stache blows his nose and gets boogers and stuff in it, or when a dude with a beard has food and junk all up in that beard. Gets me hot every time!

A five o'clock shadow maybe, but full beard, nope. I don't even like mustaches, or goatees, or anything like that.
