"That's only because that size 12 gal happens to have her weight distributed in an hour-glass shape that is more typical of a smaller-sized gal. She's lucky, and very atypical. That's why she's a model. Most size 12 gals don't have such a nice shape."

Having an hourglass shape is not atypical. Its quite common especially among Hispanic/Latino and Black women. Im a 5'9 and wear 10/12 and I have an hourglass... hell most of my family and friends have hourglass shaped bodies. Theyre not all 5'9 but the weight is still distributed quite well to all the right places... But hey I believe this also needs to be discussed in a cultural context. Most of Black men I know dont even care about the size of the womans waist... A considerably flat stomach with nice round booty, hips, and thighs is always always a go!

Not sure if thats in everywhere else, but its not a problem for me Maybe this body type is still not considered desireable in mainstream society. My cousin is a size 2, and she got a lil booty on her too, and men also love her slimness. Its all about being healthy and confident.

I think what is most important is being healthy and being happy with your own body. I am skinny but fit, I am healthy, I do not starve myself, I do lift weights, and I do it for me. I don't care if people think I look too skinny, I don't care if people think my muscles look gross, I don't care if I have veins popping out all over the place. I am in good health and I love how I look and that's all that really matters. I don't need justification from society to be happy with my body. I think I have come to the realization that no matter what size you are, you're going to be criticized by someone.

Yeh..the problem is that they cut most all plus size crap in BOX.

No one is shaped like a box! But wearing those bad plus size boxy cuts would make people think so.

Can we please have some REAL plus-size models??? I'm talking size 16's and up, not 12's...women with SOFT bodies, not buff arms, flat tummies, and tight butts...someone BESIDES the usual models Kate Dillon and Crystal Renn??? The blonde in the ad on the right side of the page is more my idea of a plus-sized model. So is this girl, who looks great...
No nasty comments please...this girl and I are VERY much alike as far as body type goes...except she's probably 5'10" and I'm 5'3"!

It's all irrelevant sizes go up and down like prices of gas. One day I can wear a size 4 perfectly high end and the next I can't pull a 6 over my hips middle priced. The whole sizing industry has gone wacko. The more expensive the pant the smaller the size from my experience.

yes, but the model shown is probably much taller than 5'3"...
