You can purchase soapmaking kits from Michaels. That being said, for what I think you are seeking, the best way is to learn how to make cold process soap. Purchase some books and start studying. Good luck.

I found an awesome source for soap-making supplies. They carry all sorts of unusual types of oils like avocado and coconut and also a huge range of oil scents that you can add to your soaps. They have everything you could want in terms of [A|http://www.elementsbathandbody.com/|soap (broken link) making supplies].

M&P is the easiest way to get into making soaps, and the safest, IMO.

You can get beginner starter kits at Hobby Lobby, Michael's and other craft stores.

I just placed an order for a complete kit: wood mold, pre-measured lye, Laboratory-quality thermometer - 12 inches, coconut, palm and olive oils, 2 ounce bottle of essence(you get to pick from a list of scents), recipe and a soap making book. This kit makes 8 pounds of soap, and everything (besides the oil and essence) is reusable. The kit was $69 dollars - just ordered it today. Can't wait to get cooking!
