Does anyone here have a timbuk2 messenger bag? I ordered the Freestyle version off Amazon and it's coming tomorrow. I was looking for something that will hold my Kindle plus a few novel-sized books and it looked perfect. We'll see--if not, Amazon has a good return policy.

I was curious because the brand seems to have a good reputation for being super durable. I'm sick of having to mend more 'fashionable' purses when I wear them out after using them 2 months. I recently had to stitch a hole shut in a Juicy Couture bag I have--of course, the company doesn't offer repairs. :-/

Sure!

Here's the bag from the company's website: Timbuk2 Bags - Freestyle Netbook Messenger - Ballistic Fabric

I got it in solid black.

I looked them up, kinda cute, a little pricey, well anywhere from 30 - 200. I guess it is the size variances. What one are you getting Pink?

The Freestyle (the one in the link above is the actual one I'm getting, in black). I got it off Amazon, however, for $55 and no tax/shipping, so I felt it was a pretty good deal. IDK, they're not completely "fashionable" I suppose but I know I'm rough on purses, and I only like cross-body bags, so I'll give it a try.

I do not own one but about 3 days ago I was online looking for one to buy. You see lots of them in Chicago. Nice bags.

I have one in black and gray. It is a medium size, and hold a ton of stuff. The bags can take a beating. I bought it to use in the rain, but is larger than I care to use for daily items.

I hope you didn't buy the large size for a few books and your kindle...you can fit a couch in there!

While timbuk2 bags are great I prefer "CourierWare" bags that are 100% handmade in Vermont, U.S.A. Courierware Messenger, Courier, Laptop, Camera, Travel Bags w/Custom Features

Since my knee surgery I use a mini as "possibles" bag to carry all the stuff I used to carry in my jeans pockets. Courierware Messenger Bags - Mini Courier & Walking Bags (http://www.courierbags.com/objects/15.itml/icOid/15 - broken link)

These bags are tough as iron and I believe might just be strong enough to last most of your lifetime. Oh yes, they WILL repair any bag they make for a small charge.
