Default African American skin with light spots on face

Hello,
I'm not sure if anyone on this forum is familiar with my problem but if so... please chime in and respond!! I am a 35 year old african american female. I consider myself pretty good looking however I have this issue that has recently made me very self conscious!! I have tiny light spots on my cheeks. I've had them for many years but in the last few years they have become more and more noticeable. My mom would always tell me that I just have white freckles. This explanation was all I needed to get over my self consciousness years ago but now I need to find out how to get rid of them. They aren't large pigment discolorations just a lot of tiny light freckly like dots on my cheeks. If you have this, seen it, or know anything about this... PLEASE share!!

Can you perhaps post a picture showing what it looks like?

Any time you see pigmentation change in any skin type you should make an appointment with a dermatologist for a check up. Skin cancer can strike any age and any race.

I have something like that...but without photos it's hard to tell. Thankfully, it's not on my face, only on my limbs, will post photos momentarily.

Ok, the camera on my phone is crappy, but it looks something like this:

These spots haven't spread and have remained stable since puberty.

I.have them and I have had them off and on since puberty also and I am 38 yrs old. The only way to get rid of them for a long period of time is to do 2 things:
1 Drink lots of water on a regular basis (really commit to the USDA recom. amount)
2 Buy Selsun Blue or the cheaper Walmart version and use it like a mask.
Let it dry, then re wet and clean your skin with warm water. Do it every 2/3 nights till you see them fade away. Once you get rid of them keep you're water levels up and only do it once every other week after they are gone. The shampoo contains selenium sulfide 1% which works well on it. An old home remedy from some where that works! I am not sure the actual name yet. I was told liver spots growing up but they aren't dark and i've been told vitiligo. Either way the blue works on it and a oily face. On my phone sorry if it isn't clear.

Default light spots on african american face

I am a 44 yr old african american woman who was experiencing light spots on my face. I PRAYED and the Lord directed me to wash my face with some very mild fragrance free soap and cleanse with astringent and applied foot fungus cream directly to the light spots then applied fragrance free face cream. I did all the steps twice daily, morning and bedtime and I saw improvement within a few days and pigment was back within two weeks. I still continue to do all the steps except for the foot cream because I now have my pigmentation back. I don't know if what I experienced is the same as your issue but I pray that this info helps someone and in all things, PRAY!

GOD BLESS

OK you all are talking about various forms of tinea versicolor, which is a fungus. On the face it is called tinea faciei. In black people, the skin loses it's color.

Tinea versicolor - PubMed Health

No need to pray, just keep it clean and apply antifungal cream or spray. (It is the same fungus as athlete's foot, which is called tinea pedis). Selsun blue, as previously mentioned, works as well.
