This is an old thread but obviously attracted lots of attention. I wear a square cut Speedo as I don't like getting in a pool and having the suit bubble up once I am in the water. It also has a liner which does not show that much and if it does, so what? After reading some of these threads about double standard, why is it ok for a woman to wear a suit that is skin tight and shows her breasts and nipple outline along with the outline of her labia but yet a man is supposed to wear those board shorts that come down to his knees? Sorry, I don't agree. Because of my age, I don't wear the skimpy Speedos but the square cuts will do just fine, no matter what people think. BTW, I have been told that I look in shape which makes my diet and exercise worth it. :-)
I wore them for years. But then, I was a highly competitive swimmer and it's what we all wore during competitions. I only wore then at pools during those events, never on the beach which is where I was raised.
It's silly that women can wear bathing suits that are little more than pasties and a string, while speedos are a "joke," but double standards in fashion are nothing new. If you are very fit, I recommend you wear short, fitted trunks like Daniel Craig did as James Bond. If you look like this, not one woman will mind.
Gawd the one thing I hate about going to Europe is the freakin' speedos just gross. I don't want to see the indent of the family jewels. Hell it was bad enough I had to wear them for swimming and water polo.
I would have rather seen the Mom with the bikini than some wrinkled old dude in his speedos in Greece.
Speedo fit me perfect and I carried that in Europe all times when go swim. In USA because of double standards I can’t carry it and I even do not know where to buy it.
Yes, agreed. There should be common sense used as to who should wear a speedo and I know that is a debatable point. If gals wearing bikinis that leave nothing to the imagination are ok, then men who are deserving to do so should feel comfortable doing so as well. The beaches I frequent rarely see men wearing them, but I do see one occasionally. I like them on a fit man. They look wrong on an over weight man.
One woman's two cents.
Um, but women's bodies don't, Ummm, ''change' ', in size and shape when seeing men in Speedos, I have seen some men... Look pretty gross at the beach, um, put a coat on that ''bad boy'', cause he is waking up, and raring to go! I would rather see a fat, bald guy in a Speedo, who is flat, that a thin, trim guy, with a buzz saw in his speedo. It is just inappropriate.
