I would be interested in knowing what a tummy tuck feels like afterward and if you were happy with the results. I don't want second hand information like my friend, blah blah, only personal experience please.
Had one about 1997 in Mexico at a third rate clinic that is now out of business; however, the surgeon was excellent. The tube they put in your stomach that you go home with came out, and I did have to walk and sit bent at the waist for 2 weeks...but the results were excellent. No problems and NO stomach fat or skin hanging down from gaining weight after I had a 10 lb. whopper kid.
Would I do it again? Damn right...worth every penny.
By the way, if you do some homework on Mexico, you can find a better clinic and many of the surgeons did their residencies in America at fine hospitals. You say much dinero there, and I would go back there if I need anything else done.
Another area is the Phillipines. Cheap there..very...and the Phillipines send more physicians to America than any other country. Good doctors at a cheap price, but you realllly have to do your homework on the doctor and the clinic beforehand. Call references and so forth as you would do anywhere, I hope.
I've heard of a lot of overseas places that have amazing spa like recovery areas that are very inexpensive, but I think I must be brainwashed about staying in the US just in case something happened down the line and needed attention. Good to hear it worked out well for you.
I had the operation in Mexico, and when I recovered they had a place in Houston for me to go to that takes out the stitches (lived in Houston). They probably had deals with other clinics all over the area.
Do NOT be afraid to go to another cheaper country. They will not release you until you are able to go home, and then any aftercare is done at an American clinic. You won't be the first or last person some American clinic takes out the stitches for and checks if all is okay. No biggie, really!
I know a guy that had a tummy tuck. He lost a lot of weight so he had a lot of extra skin on his stomach. It left a horrible scar like thick band around his entire abdomen. Does anyone know what would cause this?
Well I know you said you dont want second hand, but...
All 3 of my Aunts have had it done, 2 in Columbia and one in the Dominican Republic, and they both had great results. One of them is going back to do a "touch up" in a few weeks, she had her original surgery about 10 years ago, so she thinks its time for a maintenance tuck in some places. Its a lot cheaper in those places than say going to Beverly Hills.
I had one in December of 2001. I would do it again in a heartbeat! My surgery was performed by Dr Mario Diana in San Antonio TX. I had drains afterwards for 2 weeks. I walked bent over for a bit and was very, very tight feeling but I could bounce a quarter off my belly and all of that extra baby skin was history! My scar goes all the way from the back of one hip to the other but it is very faint, and was done in the bikini line area. I got a new belly button out of it and got to pick what my new bb would look like! LOL I was warned that I would have some numbness forever but I don't. Six years later all is well. If you want to know anything else just ask. Best of luck in your decision!

Hi Smokey! Haven't seen you around in awhile. Thanks for the positive info. I had a CSection once plus a major hernia repair in the belly button area so I know pain. I just wonder if it would look strange to have a washboard tummy with 51 year old thighs and everything else? Have you seen those facelift infomercials Smokey? The ones where it only takes about an hours and totally lifts your chin and neck area? Anyone know how this procedure is done? After watching it I was ready to get one immediately!

I had a breast lift and a reduction at the same time. I would love to have a thigh lift done. Maybe in a couple of years.
I don't know anything about the face lift infomercial. My mom had a full blown facelift and people think she is my sister.
