I think that's the key. It's all about ratio and proportion.
The no-mini skirts rule is sort of arcane anyways. It really does depend upon the shape of and the tone of your legs.
Sit down. Look at your knees, then look at your crotch (sorry
) draw a line ~ half-way up the middle. Anything at or above the half-way point usually falls into the "mini" catagory. Many women find that it is most flattering to have the skirt fall at a "narrow" part of the leg. That can be above the knee, at the knee, or slightly below the calf (think 40's pencil skirts).
p.s. for the 30+ plus ladies who want to wear short skirts: don't forget to check the BACK VIEW. A three-way mirror is your friend.
