Default Please describe WATER QUALITY & SOURCES for Fayetteville

Are water sources from both lakes & municipal wells... and are ther alot of private wells on lots as small as 1 to 1/2 acre ????
Please describe the quantities & quality, hardness levels, detrimental minerals such as iron, sulphur, salt etc. ... and the taste (or more accurately the lack of taste .... The best water has little or no taste, although a little hardness is good for us) ... Thank You... Cary

Fayetteville's *city* water comes from Beaver Lake. We've been using filters for water for years so it's hard to comment on the taste. There are certain times of the year when the water tastes and smells *off*--when the lake is turning over (usually in the fall and sometimes in the spring).

I believe the official water testing breakdown can be found on the city's site: accessfayetteville.org.

Re: wells--I'm unaware of how far *city* water extends to those in the county. Way back when, my grandfather had a house on Beaver Lake--definite sulphur taste and SMELL to his well water. Blech!

Monthly city water bills will run you a minimum of $35. Fayetteville includes sanitation pickup on its bills.
