How can I find out about what trees I can plant in my front yard? I have a copy of the CCR's but it doesn't tell me anything about what I can or can't plant. I don't even know if I have an HOA and how can I find out if I even have one?

If you don't have anything that spells out what you can and can not plant, I doubt it makes any difference what you plant. If you have an HOA you should know it.

I've never heard of an HOA that had no periodic fee, generally monthly. If you're not paying anything, better find out or you could suddenly be billed a large sum and there could be repurcussions for non-payment. How long have you lived there?

Who wrote the CCR's? Probably not the city. Some group was formed to care about your rights and restrictions where you live.

Where did you or your realtors get the copy of the CCR's.

Are there bylaws tacked on?

Any of those will address landscaping.

You would have been informed of an HOA when you bought the house.

I'd try a nice willow tree. They like a lot of rain.

Always check where the overhead power lines are,

The equipment and workers just started this morning on a street near me cutting back trees and limbs from power lines.

There were so many trees growing into power lines I'm surprised the lines are still there.
