Hello, My family and I will be moving to Springdale at the end of the year. We have been wanting to do this move for years as our family lives out there and when my wife lost her job and mine is about to be move to another location we thought now or never. We will be staying with family when we first get there but I have a few questions. 1. We will both be on unemployment do you think anyone would rent to us? We have a place to stay but would like to only stay there for a short time, we are going to start looking for jobs right away but a place of our own would be nice. 2. Our daughter plays soccer, what options do we have in the area? Travel or Rec, either will work for us. 3. Jobs. I know of the following big companies (Walmart, Serco, Tyson, JB Hunt) what other companies or resources are there for finding jobs. I think that is it for now.

My adult daughter just went through a big move--her plan was to move without job or apartment, something I was opposed to. In the end, a job in a different state fell in her lap.

Is there any way you can come for a visit before your move? You can get a feel for the area, talk with possible landlords, etc.

Regarding jobs, don't overlook the hospitals or UofA. Check out the online "help wanted" ads (craigslist, monster.com) Be aware that Tyson also uses an online employment system too. You could go online now to see what job postings there are.

Re: Soccer--I'm not familiar with Springdale's programs. Fayetteville has both a strong rec league and competitive travel team.

Good luck!

Normally I don't like to see people relocate without jobs, but in your situation you already are unemployed. NWA is a pretty good market if you have a good work record. of course a lot will have to do with what your field is. I am thinking you will be working within a month or so, if not sooner.

As for renting without jobs, you would be better off to stay with relatives until you actually get a job, then look for a suitable rental.

Our great granddaughter plays soccer in Lowell/Rogers area. I know the rec dept have soccer and maybe the Y.
