Good Day, I was looking for some info My daughter just signed with the Hogs and will be going to college there in the fall! Yeah! I am planning on moving as I work from home and am originally from TN and am ready to get back to the south! I want to be within an hour of the University so I can see her once in a while and I love attending college sporting events. I am an avid runner and love trails I also mountain bike and would like to be near the water if possible but it is not key. Perfect situation I would be able to run from my front door. I need somewhere that has fast internet as I work from home. I have been told Beaver Lake area any info would be greatly appreciated. I hope everyone is having a great day. Go Hogs!!!!

Steven

Bella Vista might be good for you. They have several walking and biking trails. some along water (creek and lake). I think it's about an hour from Fayetteville, maybe less.

The Beaver Lake area is beautiful also. Holiday Island is a resort-type planned community up there, and I would think they have trails. It's a little further away, but somewhere close to an hour, I'd say.

You are blessed to be able to work wherever you want. If I could, I'd be in Arkansas also!

If I were you, I'd look at Fayetteville. Outstanding trails. Wonderful parks. Easy access to Devil's Den, War Eagle, Beaver Lake, the White River, and so on. Fast internet. And you'd be right there, so you could take her out to dinner every once in a while, she could bring her laundry home and visit, she could even escape the University when she needs to do some focused studying.

Wow Thank You both! I am going to look into all those areas! We seriously cant wait she will be running for the University and it has been her dream to run for them for years! We were there on a recruiting trip for the Chili Pepper Festival and had a blast! Thanks so much again! Make it a great weekend!

Good luck to her and enjoy living in one of the best regions of the world in my opinion. There are so many possible places in NWA that would work for you: almost every where has fast speed internet. One of the most positive things about living here, you can have your cake and eat it too. I would add, I think there are a few areas that might work a little better for your than Holiday Island, but as soon as the weather starts to warm up, take a few days, investigate for yourself and then decide. We do several people in Bella Vista the are riders and hickers.

Seeings how you want to live within an hour of the college, I'd say anywhere in the metro would probably be your best bet. Fayetteville would probably work best since you can easily get to Devils Den without having to drive through all the cities. I wanted to make the move to NWA for the nature and I chose Rogers/Bentonville simply because my job has several stores here and I'm not a fan of the college crowd. If that wasn't a concern, I probably would have chose Harrison due to it's proximity to Ponca/Branson. That's not an option for you though as it's a couple of hours from Fayetteville. Oddly enough, I have recently started saving money in hopes of moving to Eastern Tennessee in a few years, likely around the tri-cities area. Mountains have a special place in my heart and after many vacations to The Smokies, I've decided that I eventually want that to be my permanent home.

Bentonville is the best for developed trail runs With crystal bridges, sloughterpen, and a few others within a 5-8 min drive. Fayetteville is next with lake Fayetteville and mount Sequoyah. However, Fayetteville does have Devel's den state park and the new mount Kessler area That will be hard for bvill to complete with; at least for trail runs.

Eastern Tenn was our second choice when we choose to move here. We decided, in our case, being near family was the number 1 requirement and I haven't regretted it one minute. Both TEnn and AR have a lot to offer those who like the outdoors want a mixture of rural and urban life and want a low cost of living.
