I really enjoyed this article, and I'm itching to get out to the Buffalo soon. Last night some friends were talking about getting a crew together end of May.

I think you will love it Rock Climber. About 6 years ago me and several friends floated the Arkansas river in Tahlequah Oklahoma and it was one of the best times I have ever had! Just make sure you bring sunscreen and plenty of water/beer!

Oh I've been all over the Buffalo before. I do enjoy it a lot. The upper section has some amazing bluffs that are right up there in beauty with anything you'll see in this country.

A quick beer float we've done a few times is the Elk about an hour away in Missouri. It isn't nearly as wild or beautiful as the Buffalo, but if you're just looking to booze and cruise, its a lot of fun.

One in the article I've never done is the Kings. Its a little closer than the Buffalo and I've heard good things, but if we're already driving 45 minutes east of town, might as well just hit the Buffalo.

Here's a good site for tracking water levels for the Buffalo National River. Buffalo River Page

Here are some pics of Roark Bluff at Steel Creek near Ponca. This area is just jaw droppingly beautiful. https://www.google.com/search?espv=2...47.WEl59hIUgQw
