Walmart is still the Fortune #1 in this year's annual listing of companies.

Both Tyson Foods and JB Hunt rose in the rankings, with Tyson jumping to #83, and JB Hunt rising to #434.

This place continues to boom. Who will be the next NWA company to break into the list?

Amazing growth for a great area. Gosh, I remember when Fayetteville stopped at the K-Mart and there were woods till you got to Springdale.

I just hope the area doesn't grow so much we lose all our wonderful trees. I am sure it would take a century for that to happen, but I remember when people said the same about So. Cal and orange trees.

It will give that girl (Butterfly?) another tree to sit in. I remember when they cut those old trees down to build Kohls. Of course more trees were planted and that area looks better now than it did before.

I think northwest Arkansas has such an appreciation for trees and all things natural, massive clear cuts won't happen.

so true and many of those old trees are just dieing and falling over, which isn't good. As someone said many years ago: trees are our only renewable resourse.

Double-edged sword. I like the stability and prosperity of the region, but I fear it will be another Denver,CO in 20 years.
