Default Is NWA in the midwest or south?

most people over in a Springfield, MO thread say Springfield is in the midwest. Well what about NWA? Any thoughts? What do you all think?

South. Although it has a big outside influence, it doesn't seem midwestern at all.

According to what I can remember from many years ago in elementary school, AR is a southern state. This does not mean NWA might not have a slight mid western attitude but geographically it is southern.

Missouri Hwy 60 is supposedly the boundry between south and midwest so Anderson, MO, Branson etc are still in the south

NWA doesn't feel like the rest of Arkansas. To me it feels more like a much smaller version of the northern Dallas suburbs (Plano/McKinney).

Definatly South. I grew up in NWA and it always felt like the south, everyone i knew considered it the south, definatly southern culture. I dont really see the relation between Dallas though, NWA feels different to me than a lot of the rest of the south. Not to mention absolutely beautiful!!

You'd have to be a yankee to think that NWA has Southern culture or is in any way shape or form Southern.

Maybe it's just because I'm from the Deep South, but it's midwestern through and through to me.

Its very much southern. Just not "Deep South". There is a difference that anyone that has spent time in various parts of the south should be able to see. If you havent lived in NWA and spent a lot of time there, maybe your view is skewed. That being said, i've always felt as much in/a part of the south in Arkansas, Virginia, Mississippi, etc etc. Lol surely this wont be something like, "My south is more southern than yours!!" ;D The south has different layers, just like any other region.
