Congrats to Dave & Jenny on their 1st TV show. Seem like really nice people.

It was more renovation than restoration but looked like good work was being done.

I do wonder if this isn't HGTVs way of negotiating with Chip & Joanna Gaines of Fixer Upper fame though. Almost Home mimicked Fixer Upper almost to a T.

Chip & Joanna said they needed a little time off to catch their breath or is it $$$.

I have to say, I was disappointed. It just didn't hold my interest. Also, the house they worked on was in Rogers, not in Bentonville. I understand they want to protect the privacy of the owners, but still.

It wasn't exactly riveting was it. We kept pausing the show, doing something else then watch a little more. Took 2 hrs to watch it lol.

What was really strange, it aired at 11 pm on the west coast.

That's exactly what I did. Watch a little, pause, do something else, watch a little more. The high point was the swing.

Well I'm slightly let down. I haven't seen the episode but if you guys are saying its a bust, I won't watch it. I was just curious if maybe the costs would stay true to the area, or be "too good to be true" like some of the shows. Like Chip and Joana's show Fixer Upper I find it hard to believe sometimes you can take 150k and do what they do.

I thought the budget was realistic. But we really didn't get a breakdown like they do on Fixer Upper. They bought the house for X. They had Y for the reno. They didn't get the fireplace they wanted. They got a more open floor plan.
